Grading is not our invention and it is not a negotiating tactic — it is how this material is priced everywhere. Knowing which grade you are holding is the difference between being paid for it and being paid for the cheapest thing in the container.

| Mixed tooling | Solid carbide cutters with some steel shank present. |
| Tipped and brazed | Carbide brazed to a steel body. Recovery is the number that matters, not the weight on the scale. |
| Sludge and fines | Grinding residue. Takeable, but describe the coolant and binder before shipping. |
| Unknown | If you cannot tell carbide from high-speed steel, a magnet and a weight check settles most of it — or send a photograph and we will tell you. |
Handled as a separated stream rather than charged with general feed. Confirm the route with us before shipping so the lot is not down-graded on arrival.
