Ferrous is the tonnage on almost every teardown — the steel that has to move before anything else can. It is rarely the most valuable metal on a site, but it is usually the one deciding your schedule, so we clear it first and price it plainly.
Beam, column, channel, angle and framing off a decommissioning.
Tank shell, hopper, deck plate and heavy fabrication.
Machine bases, housings, pump and press castings, counterweights.
Whole machine frames once the drives and controls are off them.
Process pipe, ducting and pressure vessel shells, once certified free of residue.
Shop swarf and clean punchings. Keep steel chips clear of non-ferrous.
Grading is not our invention and it is not a negotiating tactic — it is how this material is priced everywhere. Knowing which grade you are holding is the difference between being paid for it and being paid for the cheapest thing in the container.

| Plate and structural | Heavy clean steel, cut to a size that will charge. The backbone grade on industrial work. |
| Cast iron | Graded separately from steel — it melts and behaves differently. |
| Busheling | Clean, new production offcut and punchings. |
| Turnings | Steel swarf, graded on oil and contamination. |
| Stainless and alloy steel | Not general ferrous. If it is 304, 316 or an alloy steel, say so before it goes on a ferrous ticket — it is worth considerably more. |
Charged for melt or moved as prepared ferrous depending on size and grade. Cut to charge on site where the piece is too large to move whole.
One offer covering removal, freight and the metal. Because we own the furnace there is a floor under the number, and we can price it without finding a buyer first.
Keep title to your own material and pay to have it run and returned as ingot, bar, sow or pig. How tolling works.
Everything is re-weighed here and the ticket goes to you. Chemistry on blended product is verified by an independent laboratory, not by us. What comes out.
Most jobs arrive as a mix. Separated metal prices as itself, so it is worth knowing what else is in the pile. All metals we buy.
