BULLET POPPING
& LIVE ROUND DEMIL

Our proprietary popping furnace, designed and built in-house. Live, defective and unwanted small-arms rounds go in; inert brass and lead come out, ready for our smelter. No live round ever reaches the melt, and every lot comes with a certificate of destruction.

We own the furnace. Your brass doesn’t pass through a broker on its way to a smelter — it comes to ours, in Houston. Fewer hands in the middle is why we can pay more, or charge less.

The rounds nobody else wants

Live rounds from range brass

The loaded rounds that always end up in the sweepings bucket.

Manufacturing defects

Off-spec, rejected and recalled loaded rounds — including lots other vendors have turned away.

Unwanted & surplus rounds

Old, mixed, corroded or unidentified small-arms ammunition from ranges and training facilities.

Duds & misfires

Rounds recovered during range cleanup, popped and documented with a certificate of destruction.

Old metal ammunition cans stacked on storage shelves

Defective, surplus or just unwanted

Loaded rounds can’t go into a melt. That’s why most recyclers turn them away — and why we designed a proprietary furnace for them.

Whether it’s a few rounds from the sweepings bucket or a rejected production lot, it gets rendered inert first, then its metal is recovered.

Popped, then melted

Separate

Loaded rounds are pulled out of the mixed material by hand and by process.

Pop

The rounds are rendered inert in our proprietary popping furnace.

Recover

The brass cases and the lead and copper of the projectiles are recovered from the furnace.

Melt & document

The recovered metal goes to our smelter, and you receive our certificate of destruction.

Inert brass and lead, melted

After popping, the brass cases and the lead and copper of the projectiles go into our smelter in Houston — the same furnace operation that melts every other metal we buy.

One company from your range to new metal, with a certificate of destruction for every lot.

Why it comes back to the furnace

Nothing live is melted

Popping happens before smelting, every time. It’s the reason we designed our own furnace.

You get paid for the metal

Popped rounds still hold brass, lead and copper. That value is credited back to you.

Documented destruction

Every lot gets a certificate of destruction, so you have a record of where your rounds went.

Straight answers

What is bullet popping?

It’s the industry term for rendering small-arms rounds inert so the brass, lead and copper can be safely recovered and melted. We do it in a popping furnace of our own proprietary design.

What calibers do you take?

Small-arms ammunition. Tell us what you have on the form and we’ll confirm.

Do you take rounds with manufacturing defects?

Yes. Our process was developed for defective loaded ammunition that other vendors would not handle.

Do I get proof the rounds were destroyed?

Yes. Every lot receives our certificate of destruction.

Do you pay for the metal?

The recovered brass, lead and copper has value, and it’s credited against the job or paid to you, depending on the volume.
